Let Anthem Live: Give the Game Back to the Community

Let Anthem Live: Give the Game Back to the Community
The Issue
Anthem was a game full of promise. It gave us a world of flight, freedom, and cooperative adventure. Despite its rocky launch, it captured the hearts of players who saw its potential. Now, with its servers scheduled to shut down and development abandoned, Anthem risks being forgotten forever, like that ET game. We’re asking Electronic Arts and BioWare to give Anthem a second life by releasing it to the community for safe keeping.
Anthem wasn’t just another live-service title. It was something different and awesome:
Soaring through lush alien skies in Javelins
Exploring a mysterious world with friends
Experiencing a new kind of action-RPG built on ambition and heart
While Anthem struggled at launch, its core mechanics, especially its flight system, were groundbreaking. Many of us believed in what it could become. And we still do!
But now, with the servers shutting down and no official support, Anthem is at risk of disappearing forever. That’s not just a loss for gamers, it’s a loss for gaming history.
We, the undersigned, respectfully ask Electronic Arts and BioWare to consider one of the following:
🛠️ Release Anthem’s server code and tools to the community under a limited-use license
🧩 Open-source key components to enable private servers and modding
🤝 Partner with a trusted community team to maintain a “legacy edition” of Anthem
This isn’t about profit. It’s about preserving creativity, honoring the developers who built this world, and empowering the fans who still care deeply about it.
Let Anthem live on, not as a cautionary tale, but as a community-driven success story. In the very least, put it up for sale and give the IP to a studio that could build the game into something incredible.
✅ Call to Action:
Sign this petition to show EA and BioWare that Anthem still matters. Let’s give this game the ending it deserves, and maybe, a new beginning.
