Robin Hanson has had a problematic history at GMU. His ratemyprofessor profile says "he told us slavery and rape was economically sound".

On June 17th 2020 at 11:26AM, two days before the state holiday to celebrate emancipation, Hanson made a tweet referring to 'juneteenth' 'fried chicken' and 'watermelon', hearkening back to a racist and hurtful stereotype. He knew what he was saying, and when confronted he deleted the tweet and further 'gaslit' twitter users by trying to argue his tweet wasn't offensive. Due to his repeated racial transgressions coupled with his inability to take responsibility for his actions the university has no other choice than to terminate Robin Hanson effective immediately.
