Reconsider cancellation and re-reinstatement of the airing of Arsenio Hall Show

Reconsider cancellation and re-reinstatement of the airing of Arsenio Hall Show

The Issue

This late night talk show, host, and theme is part of American history, which include being a major part multi-culture and race integration through music, media, performing arts, pop culture, and current events in young American society. Mr. Arsenio Hall served a major contribution to those of us who belong to 'Generation-X', who were teenagers or young adults in the late 80s and 90s when the Arsenio Hall Show originally aired. United States is a nation that is now populated with more interracial and multi-ethnic households than in 1994 when Mr. Hall's show was first canceled. Losing the Arsenio Hall Show after our highly anticipated and welcomed return leaves many of us dedicated fans at an extreme emotional loss. Granted, I am sure the sponsors of CBS can relate and do not want to see a sustainable fan base fade away.

Much like many of the current hosts that were on the Arsenio Hall Show this year, many of the guests were upcoming stars in the 90s when they were first on the show and are now celebrity icons. Thus, they have shaped pop culture as it is today and Gen-X (those born between 1969-1980; all races) has grown with this culture and are loyal followers and consumers of it in most cases.

Examples of what I mean related to former guests on the Arsenio Show:

1. Ice Cube and Kevin Hart: Blockbuster hit movie Ride Along made $153 million
2. Dr. Dre: founder of Beats currently in a pending deal with Apple for $3 billion
3. Snoop Dogg: Super music and Hollywood icon; net worth over $150 million. First major performance on the Arsenio Show in the 90s.

(Just to name a few)

Having a fly-by-night replacement holds no sustainability for your sponsors and the consumers that they are looking to allure to their advertisements. The fact is that Mr. Hall's guests have a sustainable fan base, thus making his show's fan base filled with loyal followers and consumers. I'm sure Brian Williams understands what that means now.

In closing- America and the world need the Arsenio Hall Show. It’s a major part of American society and various cultures around the planet. He deserves a fair chance on the network and not a three-month teaser. Not enough time has passed to truly determine viewer stats and the fact that many statistical tracking systems are no longer a valid tool used by the networks its extremely hard to believe that his show was not pulling viewer ship and ad revenue that was marginal or higher for a new show as the 2014 Arsenio Hall Show.
