Leonard Peltier URGENTLY needs your support for his upcoming Parole hearing!!

The Issue

The case of Leonard Peltier (Anishinabe/Dakota) impacts all human beings. And in the words of the late great American civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr,  “An injustice to one is an injustice to all.”

Leonard Peltier has been arbitrarily held captive for nearly five decades for something that a Cedar Rapids, Iowa jury declared was self-defense. Virtually all of the new evidence introduced at Leonard’s trial (that was not introduced in Cedar Rapids) was found to be falsified. Whether it was falsified ballistics evidence or perjured testimony caused by intimidation of a teenager.
In fact, former US Attorney for the Northern District of Iowa James Reynolds has said that the US Attorney’s Office could not document any crime that Leonard Peltier committed on the Pine Ridge Reservation.

There are few greater injustices than to unjustly deny a human being their freedom for half a century.
Leonard Peltier is nearly 80 years old. His health is rapidly failing with diabetes, an aortic aneurism, heart ailments and now suffering from blindness.
It is clear Leonard has little time left to be with his family.
If Leonard dies in prison there will never be a healing in Indian Country from this wound, his family will never have that time with him and the world will be faced with an injustice that can never be mitigated or undone.
At his advanced age, this will likely be one of the last opportunities to get freedom for Leonard Peltier.
And this is probably the last parole hearing Leonard will have and one of the last opportunities for his freedom!

Your support and signature is vital to show the parole board that you will not tolerate one more day of this injustice!
