Save the Arts at Leominster High School

Save the Arts at Leominster High School
The Issue
Due to fiscal irresponsibility in the leadership of the Leominster Public School system, a $1.74 million budget cut has been approved for the 2017- 2018 school year. This is a substantial cut that is already taking a toll on the school system. Many changes have been proposed to make up for the lost funds-- one being cutting the arts classes at the high school and sending students to a 125-student study hall in the auditorium instead. By signing this petition, you are recognizing that the arts are a staple in the education system, and cutting them will negatively impact all students-- not just those who participate in arts extra-curricular activities. The students of Leominster High School should not be missing out on educational opportunities because of a large, unexplained deficit that they did not cause.
