STOP THE ATTACKS ON OUR VETERANS MEMORIALS!

Again, this year, efforts are underway to protect our veterans memorials in Florida.  New bills have been sponsored by Rep. Spencer Roach (R - Ft. Myers) and Sen. Victor Torres (D - Kissimmee).

The bills have passed all committees unanimously SO FAR.

BUT capital insiders report that two criminal justice reformer in the Senate, Anitere Flores (Miami) and Sen. Brandes are planning to oppose the bill in the next Senate Committee, the Rules Committee Wednesday

It was Sen. Flores that refused to hear our protection bill last session in her Committee - killing the bill.  We've seen the pictures...the most recent was the attack on a Spanish American Memorial in Portland, OR by ANTIFA in broad daylight.

Sen. Flores and Sen. Brandes are just plain wrong.  Penalties for desecrating memorials to our fallen heroes should NOT based just on the cost of the damage but also on the impact to the victims.  The law must stiffen penalties for memorial desecration.

Its' a shame that these two young Senators don't understand the harm these acts of desecration cause to family and our community.  But we WILL NOT and CAN NOT let them allow let these acts go unpunished because they are deemed as 'nuisance' crimes.

Please reach out to them and ask "why they don't want to protect Veterans Memorials.?  And that you hope they will decide to support SB 1690 AS IS - with the criminal deterrents.

It is TIME to honor our veterans and preserve our history in Florida - before all remnants of our American history and heritage has been eliminated!  It is the LEAST we can do.
