Corner House Café has been a part of Summers Corner for a few years and is a staple to the community.  It is the place where everyone comes together and in these times that's what people need most. In recent weeks we have learned that Lennar chose not to renew the Cafés contract. Although many of us have voiced our dislike to the decision and asked for them to reconsider, we were all told it was unfortunately due to COVID. Business owner has made it clear that the decision to cancel their contract was NOT due to her business not doing well during COVID. 

Lennar seems to have made a decision for personal gain. They have chosen to close something in our community without any input from the community or real reason to why. It has become easy for big companies to use COVID as excuses to cut ties with those that are not bringing enough money for them. There may be more to the story or a bigger plan for the building but Lennar chooses to keep us in the dark. The Café has been a perk amenity to Summers Corner.  If they are choosing to cancel the contract we should be kept in the loop for the plan! 

Hoping with the signatures of all those who do not want to see the Café go will help Lennar realize what a mistake it will be. Hoping they will reconsider and save the Corner House Café! Please take a moment to reflect what the café means to you. Many have moved to this community with the Café being a perk to living here.
