Help LHS get a Modified in-person Graduation.

The Issue

Please help our Seniors at Lejeune High School. Every day more and more schools outside our gates are figuring out ways to make graduation ceremonies happen for their students. Our military children have been ask to make sacrifices their entire lives, and it is unfathomable that they would be ask to sacrifice yet again.

Our Senior class consisting of only 78 students are being denied the opportunity to have any form of a modified in-person graduation, where they can be together one last time. All our Seniors want is to walk across the stage, turn their tassels and cheer for their friends. The parents and students have been calling for this,  and have provided options and solutions that would fall within the guidelines of our state and the CDC regulations. (Such as; outside event with limited guest while  following social distancing guidelines and safety protocols, or a drive-in style -one car per family and one student at a time can walk safely across stage). With full backing of the base leadership and their offer to support, there is no excuse to not make this happen.

We are asking that the Lejeune High School Administration,  the local Camp Lejeune and Regional DODEA Administration, and the DODEA Americas Administration approve a modified in-person ceremony to be added to the already planned virtual graduation.

Countless schools nationwide and through out our state that include high schools in our local area (Onslow and Carteret County) are making this happen at their schools. Our Seniors and military families deserve no less!

Please sign our Petition, share it with your family and friends.

There is power in the number of voices heard, and we need your help.
