Protect The 747 Uppingham to Leicester Bus Service

The Issue

The 747 Bus route is under threat again. Leicestershire County Council are looking to save £400,000 from their transport budget, and one of the targets is this essential service.

It is the only bus service for the villages between Uppingham and Leicester. Many rely on it for work, leisure, getting to the city sixth form colleges and to visit the Doctor's Surgery in Billesdon and Bushby. Cutting the service even further will particularly impact on teenagers as it will seriously limit their educational choices, as studying in Leicester will no longer be an option. It will also increase social isolation for those people who cannot drive.

We can protect this vital service, and I hope that this petition can play a part in securing its future.
