Leicester city centre is dying!

Leicester Liberal Democrats propose removing parking charges for the first two or three hours at council run car parks in the city centre.

We want to encourage more people to visit local independent shops, cafes and restaurants in the city centre instead of going to out of town retail parks which are dominated by larger chain stores. These retail parks usually have free parking and this acts a magnet to shoppers and creates an un-level playing field against businesses in the city centre.

Free parking will help save Leicester "Town".
