We the students respectfully ask the Lehigh administration to offer a pass/fail grade system in the company with a letter grading system. We the students have been subjected to a completely new style of learning that has compromised our abilities to feel engaged and achieve a full learning experience. The Professors at Lehigh are some of the best educators in the world however this new style of teaching has not yet been mastered by them. The online class has made learning difficult and has extremely impacted our ability to engage with a reliable education. The future of education, jobs, and health in this country is uncertain, we the Lehigh community owe it to ourselves to work together to educate one another. Incorporating pass/fail grading will allow students to focus on the content in which they are learning without the pressure of worrying about a grade point average. Additionally, “since you are able to plan for the fall semester in advance” is not enough of a justifiable reason to not offer pass/fall during these times, especially with the uncertainty of how the semester will end. The benefits of a pass/ fail grading system will differ for all students but together We the students have to assume responsibility and take appropriate action to better our lives. Lehigh Administration please listen to the voices of your students, as we respectfully adhere to yours.
