Sharia law has been proven time and time again to be one of the most oppressive forms of law in the word. Recently activists, activist groups and some city council members have called for the disbandment of the Minneapolis police department. Some of these groups have expressed confidence in being able to implement Better public safety measures through community patrols and rules of sorts. One of these proposed options has been sharia law. We cannot let sharia law infiltrate the United States of America. It is the most oppressive and restrictive form of law in the world especially against women. Some of the rules that sharia law implements are:

•theft is punishable by amputation of the hands

•criticizing or denying any part of the Quran is punishable by death 

•A woman or girl who has been raped cannot testify in court against her rapist(s).

•A male convicted of rape can have his conviction dismissed by marrying his victim

•A man can marry an infant girl

•A man can beat his wife for insubordination

that is a small fraction of a long list of cruel and unusual punishments and rules under sharia law. Does this sound like America to you? if this doesn’t sound like oppression to you I don’t know what is. This is worse for any community than any other form of law enforcement and directly goes against everything this country stands for. It is oppressive and hateful and should not be allowed in today’s society and shouldn’t even be fantasized as an option. This is ridiculous and we need to work together to defeat this common enemy.
