Safety on Campus, it Actually Matters
This petition made change with 25 supporters!
As concerned students, we are troubled about the number of incidents that have occurred on and around the University of Winnipeg. As students, we should be able to trust our institution to protect us and make us feel safe during our post-secondary experience. Moreover, we should not feel afraid to walk around school, regardless if it is day or night. While the school’s security/safety measures have changed overtime to address the issues, it is clear that more needs to be done. Yet, due to the fact that the university is located in the downtown area, it is still important to keep our university’s doors open to the wider community. In order to maintain this and ensure safety on campus, the University of Winnipeg needs more funding from the provincial government. So as students, faculty members, members of the community, and/or individuals with close ties to the university, sign this petition to show your support for more funding!
