I am a passionate hunter, believing firmly in the right to hunt as long as one has land or permission from a landowner. There have been claims that using crossbows/bows for hunting is inhumane. However, it's important to note that any hunting tool - be it a rifle or shotgun - can potentially result in an inhumane shot. The key lies not in the tool used but rather how quickly we can end an animal's suffering if our first shot does not kill it.

Crossbow hunting has been practiced for centuries and is recognized as an effective method of hunting worldwide. According to a study published by the Journal of Wildlife Management, crossbow hunters have similar success rates and wounding rates compared to those who use traditional bows (Journal of Wildlife Management, 2013). This demonstrates that with proper usage and training, crossbows are no more 'inhumane' than other forms of hunting.

The most prominent complaint against bowhunting is that it is more likely to result in wounded and disabled game animals. The modern hunting bow is extremely deadly, and very accurate and much easier to shoot than “traditional” weapons.

Legalizing crossbow hunting would also benefit our local economies by increasing sales at sporting goods stores. It would also provide hunters with more options and opportunities during their hunts.

Bows and crossbows have been used for centuries why should we stop now?
