This petition is to legalize Lane filtering in Florida, not to legalize lane splitting. Lane filtering is used to protect a motorcycle operator on the roadway. This petition is to allow motorcycle operators to go up to two cars in front of them at a stop sign or stoplight. Should a motorcycle operator exceed two cars but not more than four, they are subject to a written or verbal warning. If a motorcycle operator exceeds four cars, they are subject to a minor fine.
