We, the undersigned, respectfully petition for the legalization of concealed carry pistols in Canada.

Currently, Canadian citizens who wish to carry a handgun for self-defense must obtain a special permit, which is only granted in exceptional circumstances. This means that most law-abiding citizens are unable to carry a firearm to protect themselves and their loved ones, leaving them vulnerable to violent criminals.

Legalizing concealed carry would allow responsible and law-abiding citizens to protect themselves from harm in situations where the police are unable to respond in time. It would also serve as a deterrent to criminals, who would be less likely to commit violent crimes if they knew that their potential victims were armed and able to defend themselves.

Studies from the United States have shown that states with permissive concealed carry laws have lower rates of violent crime compared to states with restrictive laws. In fact, data from the FBI's Uniform Crime Report shows that violent crime rates have decreased in states that have enacted concealed carry laws.

Furthermore, concealed carry laws have been shown to reduce the number of mass shootings. In states that allow concealed carry, mass shootings occur less frequently and are less deadly, as armed citizens are often able to intervene before the perpetrator can cause significant harm.

In summary, legalizing concealed carry pistols in Canada would empower law-abiding citizens to protect themselves from harm, serve as a deterrent to violent criminals, and potentially reduce the number of mass shootings. We urge you to seriously consider our petition and take steps to legalize concealed carry pistols in Canada.
