As of August 18th, 2020, Lee University has plans in place for virtual chapel where students who a.) are living off campus and zooming into their classes and/or b.) have pre-existing conditions which puts them into the at risk category.

While this is a great start, we believe that this is an option that can and should be expanded to the rest of the Lee University community. The following students have expressed concerns over only having in-person chapel as an option in the following Google document

Given the increasing number of COVID cases in Tennessee, and the Cleveland/Chattanooga area becoming a recent COVID hotspot, making students feel pressured to attend chapel in person will only contribute to the rising number of cases and risk classes to go online again for the remainder for the semester. 

Since many professors are offering A/B hybrid options and allowing students to zoom into their classes full time even if they live on campus, we ask administration to explore options for virtual chapel credit and make it more readily available for the entire student population.
