TOWN OF LENOX CITIZEN’S PETITION

We, the undersigned registered voters , request the selectman include in the next possible annual town meeting, the following article in the warrant of said town meeting:Title:

 Revoke or deny a kennel license issued to Lee and Kaitlyn Kohlenberger at 85 Crystal Street, Lenox Dale, MA in accordance with Massachusetts General Law Chapter 140 Section 137C.

Purpose: It is our understanding that the owners of the above-mentioned property have applied for a kennel license and operate at least one business that provides for any or all the following at this location: dog care services, grooming, day care, boarding, training, breeding, and sale of dogs.

As of January 19, 2023, the Town Clerk of the Town of Lenox informed us that Owners have registered fourteen (14) dogs at the Property and is our understanding that a maximum of 10 dogs are allowed.Since the recent purchase of the property by Lee and Kaitlyn Kohlenberger,

numerous issues have been experienced by neighbors. We consider these aforementioned grievances to constitute an unreasonable nuisance to the general public in the vicinity.●

 Regularly loud barking at various hours outside and inside of hours permitted by town bylaw● Dogs unsecured on other private properties ● Foul odor and effluent run-off of manure and animal feces through the property and abutting neighbors and onto general public sidewalk, roadways, public water ways and wetlands● Increased traffic on an already busy road

We, the signors of this petition submit that these continuing issues cause a general decrease in the quality of life for the neighbors impacted by the issuance of a kennel license and we move forthe denial or revocation of a kennel license at the property mentioned above.

 

This petition will be brought before the selectman  so that all will be heard..

 

BUT IT HAS BEEN SAID THAT THE TOWN MAY ONLY TAKE SEROUSLY  PEOPLE OF THE TOWN OF LENOX..

SO PEOPLE THAT KINDLY SIGN NEED TO SIGN WHERE THEY ARE FROM .. MORE INFO WOULD BE USEFUL BUT THE BARE MINUM  SHOULD WORK....
