The Oakes Farms Petition ...

Friends, the people spoke their mind on Alfie Oakes and Oakes Farms, and something happened.

in this case, by far, more deputies I have personally and privately spoke with said they would welcome BWC’s. In their line of work, there is a whole profession that is dedicated to find any issue or discrepancy (mine :) ) But actual footage can be damn good evidence.  

We also can’t ignore the role bodycams have played in recent events. They have been a crucial silent witness. 

You may not think this is important, but if you ever find yourself wrongfully accused, this shall set you free. Or if with a defense attorney questions you account ... this will prove it. 

THIS IS NOT ANTI-LAW ENFORCEMENT! It is the opposite. I allows LEO’s to defend themselves against false statements, while also holing then accountable for how they interact the public. 

This by no means is an end goal but a step toward it. There are interesting ways we could fund this if we chose to, including the use of forfeiture funds.

the bottom line is, BWC’s are too important NOT to fund, so our commissioners may need to look hard and deep at the budget. 

You  cannot put a price on live, no matter what the race it was taken from. If any of you have any ideas about this topic or spreading this petition (or others let me know). But I beg of you, please share as much as possible.
