Message from the Board of Directors - As residents of the Hanover Pointe Homeowners Association, we've experienced firsthand the challenges posed by inadequate street lighting in our community. The builder failed to install enough streetlights, and the existing ones emit an orangish light that is dim and insufficient. This lighting issue has led to a series of unsettling incidents such as close calls with our children playing near the streets, acts of vandalism, and vehicle break-ins.

These aren’t just isolated incidents—they affect the safety of all our residents on a daily basis. The orange hue of the current bulbs not only diminishes visibility but also contributes to a sense of unease, as areas remain poorly lit.

The solution to these problems is simple and clear: replace the current bulbs with LED lighting. LED lights provide not only brighter, whiter, and more efficient lighting but also have a longer lifespan, which offers cost savings

Enhanced lighting can deter criminal activities and significantly reduce the risk of accidents, especially involving our children. Other municipalities have successfully undertaken similar projects, and studies consistently show a decrease in crime and accidents where better lighting is installed. Hanover Pointe deserves the same safety and peace of mind.

We are urging Hanover Township and PPL to take immediate action to convert all streetlights along Blair Road, Tyler Way, and Ciara Drive to LED lighting. Let’s work together to ensure our neighborhood is a safer place for all our families.
