Transform Bisri Valley into Unesco world heritage and forbids Bisri Dam

The Issue

Despite being advertised as the solution to Beirut’s water shortages, the dam will instead be extremely damaging to the environment -- destroying agricultural land, archaeological ruins, and livelihoods - and increasing the risk of an earthquake.

The rich nature of Bisri Valley, also known as Nahr El Awali (El Awali River), is the perfect example of the Lebanese exquisite, threatened, and endangered nature. People go to the Bisri Valley on hiking and biking trips to discover the country's most amazing gems.

This beautiful site is threatened by the construction of a dam proven inefficient
