Learn Financial Literacy, For A Better Tomorrow.

Learn Financial Literacy, For A Better Tomorrow.
The Issue
Being financially literate is an essential skill and responsibility for any functional citizen in today's complex economic atmosphere. Making it crucial that our schools equip students with the up-to-date knowledge and skills to make well-informed economic decisions. As a result, we request that the New York City Department of Education mandate at least one semester of financial literacy course as a graduation requirement for public high schools.
Currently, only 21 states in the U.S. require high school students to take a course in personal finance to help with their financing, budgeting, and money management skills. Additionally, according to a study by the National Bureau of Economic Research, those who have taken a financial education program are likely to make reasonable and the right decisions when it comes to budgeting and investing. While those that have not taken a financial course fall behind collapsing into debts. New York City, being a global financial hub, must set an example by incorporating financial literacy in its curriculum.
Having our youth understand finance will provide better economic success in the future. The fast paced economic world has made financial literacy a demand - let's prepare our youth for a better financial future by keeping up with this fast growing economy! Sign to support the mandatory introduction of a financial literacy program in NYC public high schools.
