SUB: Launching a daily newspaper- ‘GOOD NEWS’

We receive the newspaper everyday ever since I remember. I am a working professional of 28 years and like to be updated about whatever good is happening around us. Be it an infrastructure decision such as a new flyover or an underpass coming up, or a deadline being achieved , an NGO that has taken up the upliftment of street beggars as their prime responsibility, or a wonder drug in the market, or the story of a life- transformation of an  imprisoner or basically any hidden good news in an otherwise Bad News.  

However I have stopped reading any newspaper for the matter of majorly focusing on the imperfections, mishaps, tragedies and corruption. Most people begin their day with the newspaper and after reading and pondering over more of negativity than positivity in the morning, we think likewise in our subconscious mind the entire day. In an unknowing way, we are encouraging more of the above as that is what the society is collectively thinking about, discussing and focussing on.  It is said to “Nurture the goodness, not vices” as it is vices that we shall receive more of.

Even if it means starting with 2 supplementary pages to begin with inside the main newspaper, if not the front page itself. It shall bring about tremendous positive difference in the mindset, mentality and attitude of the readers. It will take its own course of time but shall be worthwhile. We are what we think about. Giving our readers GOOD NEWS early in the morning shall help them shape up into good individuals. It is an added CSR to the already long list of initiatives that these newspapers are successfully involved in.

Such an initiative coming from a leading newspaper shall mean a lot to everyone. We can bring out the goodness in each piece of news. The ‘GOOD NEWS’  shall primarily focus on the everyday good, positive, empowering and encouraging piece of news related very much to the main news of the day.  It shall indirectly urge its readers to think nothing but positive and see the good in an otherwise bad situation. And that is what we as a society shall collectively attract more of- THE GOOD!
