Qui est le propriétaire du bâtiment du Musée ?

L'État belge (Régie des Bâtiments) qui, en 2017, a conclu un bail emphytéotique avec le Musée.

Qui est le demandeur du permis d'urbanisme ?

Beliris, fruit d'un accord datant 1993 entre pouvoir le fédéral belge et la Région bruxelloise afin de développer et promouvoir son rôle de capitale nationale et internationale par le financement public de travaux.

Combien coûtera ce projet?

Environ € 10 millions, essentiellement pris en charge par Beliris à travers des finances publiques, donc les impôts de nous tous.

Pourquoi ce projet pose-t-il problème ?

1. Le choix de la démolition-reconstruction, hormis la façade, comme seule solution au développement futur du Musée. Le motif invoqué est que le bâtiment est devenu trop exigu.

L'empreinte carbone d'une telle opération est en totale contradiction avec les objectifs liés aux enjeux climatiques. Le patrimoine urbain bruxellois mérite mieux que ce façadisme d'un autre âge. 

Si le bâtiment actuel ne convient plus pour faire connaitre l'histoire, la religion et la culture juives, pourquoi ne pas opter pour un déménagement vers un espace plus grand (e.g. Lebeau, R. Mallien Fourure/ancien Musée des Postes en face) 

2. L'immeuble sera rehaussé de plusieurs mètres, à front de rue, plus haut que l'actuel faîte du toit, situé en retrait. Avec pour conséquences :

L'écrasement des bâtiments voisins et une perspective dénaturée, depuis l'espace public et la rue des Minimes mais aussi depuis la place du Sablon. Des vues imprenables, depuis la nouvelles galerie, sur les appartements d'en face et une perte d'intimité de leurs occupants.

3. Un chantier d'une telle envergure sera source de nuisances: Bruit, poussière, évacuation des déchets, livraison des nouveaux matériaux, et cela durant plusieurs années.

Ce projet doit être revu et modifié en profondeur!
Une nouvelle enquête publique doit être organisée!
Les riverains doivent être correctement informés!

Wie is eigenaar van het museumgebouw?

De Belgische Staat (Regie der Gebouwen) die in 2017 een erfpachtovereenkomst met het Museum heeft gesloten.

Wie is de aanvrager van de bouwvergunning?

Beliris, het resultaat van een akkoord uit 1993 tussen de Belgische federale regering en het Brusselse Gewest om zijn rol als nationale en internationale hoofdstad te ontwikkelen en te bevorderen via overheidsfinanciering van bouwwerken.

Hoeveel gaat dit project kosten?

Ongeveer € 10 miljoen, voornamelijk betaald door Beliris met openbare middelen, d.w.z. de belastingen van ons allemaal.

Waarom is dit project problematisch?

1. De keuze voor sloop & reconstructie van het gebouw behalve van de gevel, als enige oplossing voor de toekomstige ontwikkeling van het museum. Als reden wordt opgegeven dat het gebouw te klein is geworden.

De koolstofvoetafdruk van dergelijke bouwwerken is volledig in tegenspraak met de doelstellingen om de klimaatverandering tegen te gaan. Het stedelijk erfgoed van Brussel verdient beter dan dit façadisme uit een ander tijdperk.

Als het huidige gebouw niet meer geschikt is voor de bewustmaking van de Joodse geschiedenis, religie en cultuur, waarom dan niet kiezen voor een verhuis naar een grotere ruimte (bv. Lebeau, R. Mallien Fourure/ vormalig Postmuseum tegenover)?

2. Het gebouw wordt enkele meters hoger opgetrokken dan de nok van het huidige dak, die terug ligt ten opzichte van de straat. Dit zal resulteren in:

De overheersing van naburige gebouwen en een verstoord uitzicht vanuit de openbare omgeving en de Minimenstraat, alsook het Zavelplein.
Onbelemmerd uitzicht, vanaf de nieuwe galerij, op de tegenoverliggende appartementen en verlies van privacy voor de bewoners ervan.

3. Een bouwterrein van deze omvang zal een bron van overlast zijn: Lawaai, stof, afvalverwerking, levering van nieuwe materialen, en dit gedurende meerdere jaren.

Dit project moet grondig worden herzien en gewijzigd!
Er moet een nieuw openbaar onderzoek worden georganiseerd!
De bewoners moeten goed geïnformeerd worden!

Who owns the Museum building?

The Belgian State (Régie des Bâtiments) which concluded an long-term lease with the Museum in 2017.

Who is the applicant for the planning permit?

Beliris, the result of a 1993 agreement between the Belgian federal government and the Brussels Region to develop and promote its role as a national and international capital through public funding of construction works.

How much will this project cost?

Approximately € 10 million, mainly paid for by Beliris through public funds, i.e. the taxes of all of us.

Why is this project problematic?

1. The choice of demolition & reconstruction, except for the façade, as the only solution for the future development of the Museum. The reason given is that the building has become too small.

The carbon footprint of this project is in total contradiction with the objectives to mitigate climate change. Brussels' urban heritage deserves better than this façadism from another age.

If the current building is no longer suitable to raise awareness of Jewish history, religion and culture, why not opt for a move to a larger space (e.g. Lebeau, R. Mallien Fourure/former Postal Musuem right opposite)?

2. The building will be raised several metres higher than the current roof ridge, which is set back from the street. This will result in:

The oppressive impact on neighbouring buildings and a disfigured view from the public surroundings and the rue des Minimes, as well as the Place du Sablon.
Unobstructed views from the gallery of the projected new buiding into appartments opposite and loss of privacy for their occupants.

3. A construction site of this size will be a source of nuisance: Noise, dust, waste disposal, delivery of new materials, and this for several years.

This project must be reviewed and modified!
A new public CONSULTATION must be organised!
Residents must be informed PROPERLY!
