Covid has been a continuing problem for the last 2 years, especially for students in school. Students feel overwhelmed with the amount of work they would be missing, if they receive a positive Covid test. People attend class while sick to avoid being put in isolation. They also avoid the wellness center, with fear of being sent away to a hotel. 

My roommate and I just tested positive for Covid. Therefore, we have to isolate for at least 7 days if we test out of our isolation. So for the next 7 days, we will both be missing class and important material we should be learning. We have reached out to our professors, looking for accommodations to make this week go by easier, including Zoom accommodations or even recording the class. These ideas were shut down by both of our professors, as we now have to try to teach ourselves the required material. Keep in mind that when professors get sick, they are able to provide the students with a Zoom link. We were already virtual for the first two weeks of the second semester. So, what's the difference?

The first step to addressing this issue could be as small as a Zoom link. Students learn so much better when they have someone to teach them. Especially since we are paying for the classes anyways. Please sign this petition to get Le Moyne to reconsider their Covid isolation policy!
