Save The Avonmore Conservation Area From Property Developers!
Why this petition matters
Gordon Cottage is a historic building on the junction of Avonmore Road and Earsby Street which survived the Nazi bombing of West London during WW2. Now, property developers want to demolish it to make way for a 6 storey block of flats.
Please help us protect our local heritage from the bulldozers.
Gordon Cottage is listed as a Building of Merit in Avonmore Conservation Area 23, which means it’s considered particularly important to the character and history of our local area. As a Building Of Merit it should be protected by the Council. But now, as part of a broader redevelopment of the Avonmore Primary School site, plans are being drawn up to knock the cottage down to clear the land for a large residential property development.
Please sign this petition if you value the contribution this building makes to the character of our local Conservation Area and are deeply alarmed at the proposals to knock it down to make way for a block of flats.
Join us in calling on Hammersmith And Fulham Council's Planning Committee to protect our Buildings of Merit and reject any application to knock down Gordon Cottage.
Gordon Cottage survived the Luftwaffe. With your help it can survive LBHF's development plans.
