Chemical weapons are banned worldwide in warfare. Tear gas is a chemical weapon, but is perfectly legal to use against citizens as "riot control". It is completely wrong that something that was banned from actual warfare for being too violent, dangerous, and painful to use against enemies of our country is okay to deploy against citizens who are exercising their first amendment right. There are other avenues of "riot control" and using chemical weapons shouldn't be one.
