It is currently up to the discretion of pubs and clubs to set a time on when children leave their premises. There is currently no law in place to have a curfew on children in licensed premises.
It is ok for a child to be in the company of an adult at a pub or club until closing time while the adult consumes alcohol and parties the night away. This is all ok as long as the child is with a responsible adult, in all honesty, how is a parent being a responsible adult having a young child at an alcohol fuelled environment like a pub or club after 9. Having witnessed an eight year old sitting in a semi closed outdoor area which is packed with alcohol fuelled people and cigarette smoke well after 10pm disgusted me. After researching I have found there is no law or legislation in place to have children off such premises by a reasonable time. For the greater future of children everywhere please help me to get this reviewed and a law in place so no child should be in such an environment like pubs and clubs after 9pm.
