Deputy Nicholas Blane Dixon of Hall County, GA was shot and killed in July, 2019 due to a 17 year old gunman fleeing the police during a commission of a felony. Deputy Dixon was only 28 years old with 2 children, one only 4 months old! The show of support was HUGE by police, firefighters and residents from all around the State and County. Thousands lined the streets to pay their last respects to Deputy Dixon. Support while Dixon was being carried to his resting place.

HERE is the issue. The prosecutor wanted to seek the Death Penalty but due to a 2005 Supreme Court ruling, they cannot due to the gunman's age below 18 years. GA already has a law that allows the death penalty but the Supreme Court Rules! States should be able to follow their own rules. Article on why Death Penalty cannot be sought

OUR LAWS ALREADY ALLOWS PROSECUTORS TO TREAT JUVENILES AS ADULTS, SO WHY NOT TREAT THEM AS ADULTS WHEN IT COMES TO THE DEATH PENALTY?

We need this law overturned and a new law in place especially for those who kill an officer in the line of duty while they are commiting a felony or breaking the law. This needs to be done in DIXON's name and honor. This is a travesty of justice to not be able to seek the death penatly in this case.

Gunman will sit in our jails on the tax payers dime for decades and if anyone deserves the Death Penalty it is the gunman who took Deputy Dixon's life from his family, friends and the Men and Woman in BLUE!
