Regular meetings of the Los Angeles Unified School District Board of Education (or “LAUSD School Board”) occur at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesdays. This start time is not public friendly as many stakeholders within LAUSD are working or attending classes.

A more convenient time for LAUSD School Board participation would promote public engagement. Changing the time from 1:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. would allow parents, teachers and other school employees, students and community members to attend and more fully participate in important decisions about the education of children.
