The Laurens County Commissioners/Animal Control are operating kennels that the public has no access to. This results in animals being killed that have had no chance to be seen, adopted, or rescued.

When Animal Control Officers pick up dogs in this County, they take them to kennels located at the public works property. The animals are held for a minimum stray hold. If owners do not call to reclaim, or if the Director of the Dublin-Laurens County Humane Society does not pull the animal over into their facility, a local vet then goes in and kills them. Many do not have any chance of being seen, adopted, or rescued before being put to death. This is NOT fair. Each and every animal should have an opportunity, not just select ones. They do not have their own facility for felines, so the cats/kittens are taken to the Dublin-Laurens Humane Society. Many of these are not posted on any site to be viewed nor given a chance to be adopted/rescued before being killed.

These kennels were opened with no notice to the public. This is funded by the taxpayers in this County. The Dublin-Laurens Humane Society is funded partially by taxpayers money/donations.

We must be the VOICE for these animals who do not have a voice. They should ALL be given a fair chance to be saved.
