I have twin boys who are currently on waiting lists for multiple services such as Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language and Psychology due to autism and additional needs. Over a year and a half into this journey I am disheartened and scared that they will not receive the care  they need at the time they need it the most. It has been a lonely experience and I am not hopeful that it will get any easier.

The HSE are unable to keep up with the demand for essential services resulting in parents having to fight for every appointment. Waiting lists for assessments are months if not years long following the assessment you then have to wait to receive therapies. 

As I have been told in relation to my sons, failure to provide these therapies will have a huge impact on their development and quality of life in later years.

I have utilised private services which are very costly and as more and more parents start to do this I feel we are letting the HSE away with forgetting  about our children. I just want to advocate for my sons and help other parents who are experiencing the same issues.

I am submitting my complaints  to the HSE and would love to attach the support of others to this.
