The Issue

This family has faced many challenges and struggles. Rudy coming home will restore hope to our family. We have all suffered together.  Rudy Anderson has been incarcerated since 1998 at the age of 15 years old. He was mandated to Hutchinson Correctional facility in 1999 at the age of 16 years old. During his incarceration, Rudy has taken full advantage of the programs and opportunities available to reform himself. He has become a model prisoner. Below is a snapshot of his many accomplishments and virtuosity during his long road of redemption.

GENERAL EUCATION CERTIFICATE

Acquired general education skills and was able to test and bass the Kansas Board of Regents test to receive a General Education Diploma.

Jaycees Food Service
Hutchinson Prison-Food services (2003-2005)
President of Jaycees, currently serving as vice president. Responsible for food and being the voice of the inmate relating to movies, food choice and other activities within Hutchinson Prison.

Vocational Food Service Certificate
Hutchinson Prison (Supv- Pat Egbert 2000-2005)
Studied and learned skills to become a cook and worked in vocational food services under the direct supervision of Pat Egbert. Was also appointed to train new inmate staff on the work duties and food handling and preparation.

Hutchinson Print Shop- Head of Print Shop
Hutchinson Prison (Supv- Jim Flood 2005-2011) Derek Fairbanks is current supervisor
Head of the print shop. Responsible for layout and design. Created and designed posters, flyers, T-Shirts and all media related things for various agencies which included: Big Brothers and Sisters, CASA, Boys & Girls club and local Hutchinson organizations. Responsible for training of new inmate staff. Created Hutchinson prison hospice mission statement.

Hutchinson Prison Hospice Ward- Hospital Ward
Hutchinson Prison (supv- Laura Webster 2005-2011) Deb Lundry is current supervisor
Served as a Hospital liaison between nurses and inmates. Duties included: Communicating and tracking medical changes, Wound Care, Bathing and dressing, Personal care including; hair, skin, oral and nail care. Assistance with toileting and incontinence, light housekeeping, feeding. Ensuring a clean and healthy environment. Standing by inmate up through the death of inmate taking his last breath.

Private industry job Hutchinson, KS (Owner- Merlin Prehiem 2011-2018)
Trainer, head of sewing and inspection. Mastered every skill. Ensured daily order instructions for the amount of burlap orders were being met on a daily basis. Overseer of daily operations of burlap bags. Responsible for preparing sewing machine to sew burlap bags together. Responsible for inspection of bags to ensure good quality and no error of burlap bag. Responsible for printing the company branding label for burlap bag.

Private industry job Hutchinson, KS ( Supv- Tammy Kilmer 2019- current)
Responsible for the daily assembly of electrical wire harnesses for various vehicles.
Duties include; working in a fast pace assembly line, ensuring the quality of production is being met while assembling wire harnesses together on a daily basis.

Offender Victim Ministries (exec dir- Libby Schrag 2010-2012 Newton, Ks)
* Worked with John Mcabe Juhnke from bethel College and presumed lead role in a few written plays for the prison

Jehovah Witness- (2003- present) Has been a baptized dedicated Jehovah’s witness since 2003’. Ensures religious activities and events are being held at the prison. Practices religious faith and witnessing on a daily basis. Sometimes presumes the lead role of elder/ teacher of religion to fellow attending prison inmates.
