We are in the Year 2023; our UK Schools are woefully inadequate on safety regulations and mental health awareness. We have seen a massive rise on mental health issues since Covid that school kids are silently suffering with a whole range of issues. We are also seeing an unprecedented rise in knife attacks especially, in USA and now UK (very recently – Elianne, a 15 years old Croydon school pupil). I am writing this petition to ask for your support in helping me to reach a target to show our desperation to get these two major issues tackled in a positive and educative approach.
I want to share a very heart-breaking and tragic event that took place in Florida two years ago (2021) and it has made such an impact on me. Tristyn Bailey, a beautiful star who was just 13 years old and was a very popular athlete in her academy school. She had some friendship with a 14-year-old classmate. Not much is known how much Tristyn and her classmate knew each other because there were various stories that grew into a mist of confusion and how much of it was the truth. What is certain, Tristyn and her classmate shared the same circle of friends. They were both ultimately let down by their counterparts. Tristyn sadly lost her life in a terrible and violent attack by her 14-year-old classmate. What transpired out of this "beyond horrific" attack, the mental health issues, carrying knives the 14-year-old pupil had were known to his peers, and his behavioural issues were also known too. What stood out: no-one SPOKE up to air these concerns at all. The schools (not just in UK) – We need to see ACTION and not WORDS.

• Teaching Practices to include training on Mental Health Awareness and Aids.
• Incorporate Self-Defence into National Curriculum.  
• Provide positive role-models in daily classes to change the mindset of the pupils and teach them to speak up.
• Schools to implement security checks to stop pupils from bringing weapon(s) to school.
• We want ZERO violence ACROSS the schools.

My heart grieves for both side of the families who have suffered a devastating, profound shock and loss where a child lost her life and a child forfeited his life.
