Thank you so much to everyone who has pushed our grassroots campaign to 35 verified petition signatures and 28 completed surveys! We are gaining massive momentum, but we still need your help to hit our next big milestone.
🧩 Are you a "Cross-Border" SEND Family?
Our survey data has flagged a major systemic gap: many children physically attend The Castle School or Brookfields School in West Berkshire, but their EHCP and home address sit under a neighboring local authority (like Oxfordshire, Hampshire, or Wiltshire).
Because holiday funding is tied to your home address, you will likely be locked out of West Berkshire's standard HAF portal. However, you do not have to go without.
💡 What you need to do today:
Contact your home council's HAF Coordinator immediately (e.g., Oxfordshire HAF Team).
Ask them exactly what SEND holiday provisions they are commissioning for your child this summer using their 15% discretionary funding allowance.
Request that they coordinate cross-border funding so your child can access specialized summer activities at their familiar school site.
Regardless of your home postcode, if your child thrives in a West Berkshire school, your voice counts in our campaign. We are fighting for a flexible, multi-site collaborative hub where councils and local expert charities work together so no child is left isolated at home.
