Save Our Pigs!
The pigs of Kew Little Pigs are facing homelessness.
As of 24th February 2017 over 50 Pigs, 3 Goats and 4 Chickens will face eviction after nearly 3 years and £150k of investment at Stampwell farm.
During our time here, we have turned our space from a bracken filled derelict plot, into a place of beauty, relaxation and education. We welcome visitors from all over the world, as well as local community groups, who came to enjoy time spent with the animals, learn essential pig keeping skills in our school of husbandry, and benefit from the therapy of caring for the pigs.
Sadly, the Latimer Minster Church and Stampwell Farm are planning to build a series of houses and luxury apartments, and have decided not to renew our lease. Moreover, they claim that our farmland is not being used solely for agricultural purposes, which will interfere with their planning, and constitutes grounds for eviction.
What we need:
Despite verbal assurances of compensation and an 18 month exit strategy, we are facing eviction with 3 months notice, in winter and with no financial recompense.
Furthermore, the landlords are now denying our customers and deliveries access to the farm, which means we will lose much needed revenue not only to feed the animals, but to relocate and reestablish the business elsewhere.
Please support our campaign to gain valuable time and our costs in order to protect our wonderful piggies and ensure the continuation and expansion of our successful business.
