Pete Shaw Road (the road connecting Sandy Plains and Steinhauer) has been too treacherous of a path for half of our community to use. The lack of a complete sidewalk prohibits many activities including walking to and from school, biking to and from school, walking dogs, running, leisurely walks.

Children most certainly cannot safely navigate the winding, narrow road, shoulder-less stretches, encroaching vegetation, and creek without a sidewalk. Approximately half of our community is unable to navigate this road (which connects two major roads and schools). This is solvable. We do not need to accept this. We can enjoy our community more and definitely have the right to do so safely.

The next SPLOST budget is being considered. I know there are many households in our community that would benefit from the completion of the sidewalk down Pete Shaw. Many have expressed this need to each other, now is the time to let the county and our commissioner hear our loud unified voice. The more of us there are the more of a priority this will become.
