Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the June 3rd high school graduation ceremony for the Southern High School of 2020 is in jeopardy.  These young adults deserve to cross the stage, be congratulated by their Principal and receive the diploma that they have worked day and night to obtain.

Many of these seniors have missed their final sports seasons, dance recitals, competitions, concerts, awards banquets, and now, their prom.  

We are simply asking the Maryland State and Anne Arundel County Boards of Education to not cancel the graduation ceremony - but to postpone it until a later date, after the curve has flattened and Maryland re-opens. 

The 240+ Seniors deserve at least one last opportunity to see each other, to congratulate each other and to maybe say goodbye to their teachers and classmates, many of whom they have known since Kindergarten.

Please sign our petition and with any luck, our requests will be granted and our children will be able to look for that light at the end of this horrible tunnel.
