Stop Breed Specific Legislation and reconsider HB1261.

The Issue

Labeling all Pit Bulls, "American pit bull terriers, American Staffordshire terriers, Staffordshire bull terriers, American bulldogs, and any other pure bred or mixed breed dog that is a combination of these dog breeds" as "dangerous dogs" is breed specific legislation and discriminates against dogs based solely on how they look, not their behavior. It is inhumane, ineffective and costly.

Encouraging or requiring owners to "restrain" their dogs with a leash, chain or lead not exceeding three feet is also cruel and inhumane treatment of a dog.
