I pledge that by locking down for just one week a year, we can save our world. Whilst the corona virus pandemic has brought upon many hardships and difficulties, it has also shown the power of us humans to restore Mother Earth in as little as a few weeks. By simply staying indoors and essentially shutting the world down for simply 1 week, JUST 1 WEEK, we can make the difference of a lifetime. These past 2 months, the Ganges has changed from black, murky water to crystal clear which has been approved to be of drinking quality. Mountains have become visible after decades. The hole in the ozone layer above the North Pole has virtually closed. Without doing anything! 

I know that this seems easy to say and yet much harder to do but think about it. If we can truly bring together individuals, communities, states, politicians, governments and countries, we really can do this. We’ve already made it through months and are showing amazing worldwide signs of recovery so realistically speaking, simply one week seems more than achievable. If we can plan, move dates and gel it into our calendars, this really is possible.

Imagine our world with clear skies, running blue streams, beautiful wildlife, flourishing colourful flowers and new forests and plants everywhere. Wouldn’t you want to see this? Wouldn’t you want your children and generations to come and see our worlds true beauty? I know I do. I know that I want to see Australia’s landscapes recover from their fires, see almost extinct species recover and thrive and simply be able to live in a world which I love and am proud of. So please, if you believe in this and are willing to dedicate merely 7 days of 365 a year to giving back to the world which gives us everything, sign this petition.
