This year's spike in local illegal firework activity is widely concerning to the community, having started early this spring and worsening on a nightly basis. This must be more thoroughly addressed by the LAPD and city officials.

The fireworks being lit are frequently much more powerful than typical fireworks, causing area nearby car alarms frequently go off which only adds to the disruption to the entire community.

The nightly explosions are particularly detrimental to those with PTSD (including veterans), countless people with anxiety disorders worsened by the pandemic, front-line workers losing sleep, small children that are inconsolable as well as animals that try to bolt and end up on the street or in city shelters.

Furthermore, as fire season is starting, it's only a matter of time before dry grass and other materials catch on fire if this is allowed to continue.

In conclusion, nightly firework explosions are clearly illegal and harmful. As a community, we require more action from our local police and city officials.
