Hello Everyone I am a local resident who lives, works and plays right here in Dawson Creek. The reason I started this petition was because I truly believe we as a community as a whole would greatly benifit from and be able to support a new movie theatre or a major upgrade to ours. The main person is the CEO of Landmark Cinemas who has the power to decide if we get one or not

It has been in my thoughts for months now how we need a brand new theatre or a major upgrade to ours. Many people I know just watch movies on Netflix or take the risk to drive to Grande Prairie or Fort St. John just to see a movie. Dawson Creek is a booming community and in the past few years we have lost all of our video rental stores so we have no rentel stores except for those rentel boxes at Safeway and Walmart. I honestly rather go into a store and pay the money to rent a movie, watch the movie then return it. This is why we need Landmark Cinemas to get their act together and come to Dawson Creek them selves and see the theatre it's self. I have worked there personally and I have to admit I have seen things I thought were never there. 

If we will this petition we will greatly benifit from a new up to date theatre. We would more benifit from a two or more screen theatre for the families and thier kids. While there kids watch a kid friendly movie the adults can be watching a adult movie. A new theatre will also bring job oppertunites to the community. As a bigger theatre is opened that means more staff needed, as new technology is introduced that means constant re certification for the job as we continue to grow as a community. As it is said to shop local. 

If we were to lose we would still remain with the old theatre as movie goers continue to drive to either Fort St. John's theatre in the Totem Mall or Grande Prairie's Cineplex Odean. The City would greatly benifit from the new theatre for Dawson Creek. If this isn't enough to encourage you to sign it.
