First and foremost on behalf of our community fridge family we'd like to thank everyone that has been involved and active with our fridge located at All the Right (91-30 corona ave, elmhurst ny 11373). Since the day of our inauguration on July 31st we have fed a vast amount of families who rely on the fridge on a day to day basis. Today we ran into a time sensitive issue with the landlord that we need your help in. The landlord has brought up some concerns surrounding the upcoming weather and the safety of those who come to the fridge. She contacted George, the owner of the space hosting the fridge, to request we remove the fridge from her premise in the next 2 weeks unless we can come up with a plan of action or some sort of paperwork/documentation to address liability issues. We have the full support of George, the store owner, in keeping the fridge at this location. We are reaching out to you to ask for guidance toward how to handle this situation. We would like to establish a legal plan of action so every party involved (landlord, store owner, families and volunteers) surrounding the community fridge will be covered.
