（早报讯）武吉班让直达市区的巴士路线停运和改道引起居民不满，在网上发起的请愿已获得4000多个联署签名，交通部兼外交部高级政务部长徐芳达今天将连同陆路交通管理局，与议员连荣华和谢秉辉会面讨论，探讨可实行什么缓解措施解决巴士问题。

SMRT周一宣布，从本月16日起，往返武吉班让和珊顿道的700号及700A号巴士服务会停用。原本往返武吉班让和乌节路的972号巴士也会调整路线，不再途经史蒂芬路，而是经过杜尼安路、武吉知马路和纽顿站。

徐芳达昨晚在面簿贴文说，许多武吉班让居民电邮交通部，反映他们对调整这两条巴士路线的担忧，而他就此事件与陆交局讨论后，了解到主要原因是要谨慎使用公款。

市区线第二阶段2015年底启用以来，与这条地铁线并行行驶的巴士乘客量骤减，171号和700号巴士的乘客量分别滑落超过三成和五成。

政府目前为市区线从武吉班让至市区之间的路线，一年须补贴6000万元。由于乘客量低，要维持171号和700号巴士路线的运作，政府每年还得补贴1400万元。 

交通部长王乙康昨天也通过电邮答复在网上发起请愿的居民，并指出针对972号改道后可能带来的不便、190号巴士更拥挤的问题，他已要求陆交局研究，如有必要，当局将准备增加更多巴士。
