"Grateful that Mr Chee Hong Tat, Senior Minister of State for Transport and the MOT/LTA team dropped by to understand residents' concerns arising from changes to the bus services 700, 171 & 972; and to discuss possible mitigating measures with our grassroots leaders, Mr Edward Chia and I.

While we recognize that the rising cost subsidies for some of these services are not sustainable, we also agreed on the need for mitigating measures to reduce the impact on our affected residents.
Over the National Day holidays, we will continue to stay in touch and work on the various options that we discussed.

This would include measures to (1) minimise the additional travelling time due to service diversions and (2) continue to offer residents at Petir Road a direct bus service to town during peak hours.

We hope to update progress next week."
