This objective of this petition is to improve vehicular traffic flow and travel times along Sengkang Square.

Along Sengkang Square road outside Compass Heights condo and Sengkang Bus Interchange, a U-turn sign is placed at the traffic junction (facing La Fiesta condo) but there is no U-turn sign under the bridge outside the exit of Compass Heights/bus interchange. Traffic is very well regulated here by the traffic lights system and the traffic flow is very light.

The problem is, in order to get to KPE or areas like Rivervale Plaza, Hougang Mall, one needs to drive all the way to Sengkang CC junction to make a U-turn, encountering 3 sets of traffic lights. Whereas if a U-turn sign is placed under the said bridge, only 1 set of traffic lights will be encountered.

Travel time is cut from 12 min to 3 min to reach the same spot (Compassvale Rd/Sengkang E Way).

Not only does it reduce travel time and fuel, it is also safe to U-turn under the bridge with the light traffic conditions. If U-turn is allowed at the busier traffic junction on the other end of the same road  (facing La Fiesta condo), we seek support from LTA to install a U-turn sign near the bridge.

The management council of Compass Heights and the vehicular traffic sub committee has studied the traffic flow on site on numerous occasions at different time of the day and reached this conclusion to request LTA for support to install a U-turn sign near the bridge.
