Significantly reducing ‘single use plastics’ has become a critical step towards protecting the environment.   Please cease using dairy cartons with plastic pour spouts and caps. The original design of the milk carton did not include a plastic pour spout and cap, and yet the carton functioned beautifully.  A built-in pour spout was easily formed by opening one top end of the carton.  See https://patents.google.com/patent/EP0132824A2

According to one EPA study referenced in https://livegreen.recyclebank.com/451-recycling-q-a-a-milk-cartons “490,000 tons of milk cartons were generated in 2008, but only .05 percent were recycled.”  That is a lot of plastic caps in our landfills. 

Instead, insist on a return to the original design, without the plastic pour spout and cap, or replace the plastic components with biodegradable products.  

Respectfully, I ask that please consider the significant, positive impact that your leadership and support of this proposal will have on our environment by eliminating single use plastics from your products.
