The term redskin is a racial slur and has no place in an educational institution. The Lancaster school district's use of the name and accompanying mascot perpetuates prejudice and stereotyping and it is time for a change. Currently, there is a petition to keep the name because of pride and tradition. Some argue that there are more who support the tradition and only a few Native Americans are against it. I would like to prove them wrong.
