We, the people of Lancaster County and the City of Lancaster, SC demand justification of the termination of Chief Scott Grant!

We demand a clear and legal definition for the reason for his termination.

We demand that if any evidence of agenda driven, family advancements, money exchange or political motivation has in any way affected Chief Grant’s termination, the responsible City Councilmembers step down as well as be held accountable. They do NOT represent the people of Lancaster, SC. 

For the last 3 months, Police Chief Scott Grant has been subject to vicious attacks on his character and professional decisions. His opposition has falsely accused him of lying to the public and city council, ineffective leadership, and racism.

Chief Grant has faithfully served Lancaster County since 1995, with well over 20 of those years devoted specifically to the City of Lancaster. He is a man of integrity, with a strong sense of right and wrong. He loves this city and ALL of it’s people, not just those who agree with him. He has an unending desire to make this city a better place for all of our citizens, and this attack on his character is disgraceful. City Council has continued to entertain lie after lie, despite evidence (including from independent consultants) contradicting derogatory statements being made by community members

This is a modern day witch hunt against a GOOD MAN, and the council is bending to the will of loud barks, and are trying to force him out.

Let this petition speak for ALL of Lancaster’s residents: WE WILL NOT BACK DOWN. We will stand behind Chief Grant, because he is doing GOOD WORK in this city. He cares about this city. He has devoted his life and his career to this city.
