The Skem Men-Aces is the most successful Football Club for Adults with a Learning Disability based in Skelmersdale. They have won everything there is to win in football. SPECIAL OLYMPIC SILVER OLYMPIANS 2013 and in 2016 we were awarded THE QUEENS AWARD FOR VOLUNTARY SERVICES which is the highest honor in the country that a voluntary group can receive. It is also classed as the MBE for voluntary groups. Can I make a simple request to all you people that have the power to support, help and fulfill another dream that the Skem Men-Aces have had for some time. We would love a Plaque/Banner on one of Skems many roundabouts to simply express how hugely proud we are of every single ATHLETE of this very unique Club and also to express our sincere thanks to the Skelmersdale Community for their incredible support. (WELCOME TO THE HOME OF THE SKEM MEN-ACES). I have no intentions of excepting that nothing or nobody cannot carry out this request but I am also conscious that many other clubs/groups may be more worthy of that accolade. Having said that I personally believe that this Famous club has helped in some way to put Skelmersdale firmly on the map and for that very reason I honestly believe that my request is well substantiated. I would hope that the Council would have embrace our request with open arms and celebrate all that the Men-Aces have accomplished whilst at the same time promoting and thanking the community of Skelmersdale. All we strive for is to create new and exciting experiences for these often neglected individuals and for those of you that can make this dream into a reality you will put these very special Sportsmen/Athletes among one of Skems finest achievements and above all you will continue to give them the acceptance, acknowledgement and recognition they so richly deserve . I would be most grateful if you would be in a position to support our request. Skem is a struggling Town yet its community is a fiercely kind-hearted generous and very proud people where quite simply without the Towns support this proud and successful club would not be where it is today.
